About Spencer
Spencer Gordon Shaw brings decades of hands-on entrepreneurial and operational leadership across construction, mining, hospitality, and large-scale infrastructure-driven businesses.

Raised in a high-performance business environment, Spencer was exposed from an early age to complex operations, strategic growth, and disciplined execution. His career spans founding, scaling, and operating businesses in demanding, regulation-heavy industries — experience that directly informs his approach to development, project delivery, and long-term value creation.

At the age of 28, Spencer successfully self-funded and launched Hooters of South Africa, later becoming one of the youngest international owners globally. His leadership during this period earned him national recognition, including being named among South Africa’s Top 200 Young South Africans by Mail & Guardian and winning the RASA Award for entrepreneurial excellence.

Following his success in hospitality, Spencer transitioned into mining and industrial operations, owning and operating multiple mines and wash plants in the North West region, exporting over 200,000 tons of chromium ore. He remains actively involved in the XAU (gold) dredging sector, alongside ventures in regulated cannabis consulting, facility development, and supply chain operations.
